Review the player-facing build before the next milestone.

GameCloud Milestone Validation Review

GameCloud reviews agreed player journeys, production assumptions and launch-readiness questions on a named build, then records findings for the studio's decision. This is a structured review method with a written evidence output - not a substitute for the studio's own design, production or launch authority.

The engagement is scoped to the title, milestone and review questions you name in the brief. Team size alone does not determine fit. Platforms in scope are those named in the quote (PC, iOS, Android, TV, Web, XR and other emerging platforms including smartglasses when relevant).

What the review covers

For each engagement we agree:

  • The build ID or branch under review
  • The production phase or milestone (for example pre-alpha, soft-launch candidate, or store-window freeze)
  • Player-facing criteria and journeys to walk
  • The decision record the studio needs before the next gate

Findings are written against those agreed inputs. We do not imply external player research, community sampling or observed live-player response unless a separate approved method and evidence source are named in the quote.

Named method and evidence output

Milestone Validation Review - a third-party pass on the player-facing build before the next production gate.

GameCloud is an external game QA partner for PC, iOS, Android, TV, Web, XR and other emerging platforms. On this page the offer is a bounded validation review: agreed journeys, reproducible issue evidence, coverage limits stated up front, and studio-owned priorities, fixes and launch decisions.

Studios and publishers often already review production phases internally. An external checklist review can add a second set of eyes on the same milestone questions, with notes the production team can accept, defer or reject.

Evidence the studio receives

Like other GameCloud passes, validation work is tied to the phase you are in. For clarity we group the life cycle into four major phases and map checklist items to the phase you name in the brief.

What a Milestone Validation Review delivers:

  • Written findings against the agreed player journeys and criteria.
  • Compare production-team assumptions with observations recorded during the agreed review.
  • Reproducible issue notes that can inform rework scope and build-window planning.
  • Early notes on player-facing and paid-feature readiness when those items are in scope.
  • Decision-support notes for where to focus production effort next.
  • A coverage statement: what was reviewed, what was out of scope, and what remains open.

Typical review questions (scoped in the brief)

Checklist items are selected for the title and milestone - examples include:

  • Clarity of the game concept in the opening session
  • Smooth game mechanics on the journeys agreed
  • Consistent and achievable skills and challenges on those journeys
  • UX friction that blocks progress
  • Video and sound issues that affect the reviewed paths
  • Placement and behaviour of IAPs when named in the brief
  • Whether the concept can be picked up without a coach
  • Whether the opening minutes build anticipation as designed
  • Ability to complete the agreed levels or loops
  • AI behaviour on the paths under review
  • Social features only when they ship in this build
  • Consistency checks across versions named in the brief
  • Post-launch support and booster paths only when in scope
  • Fairness checks for the user categories named in the brief
  • Session hooks the studio asked us to observe
  • Identity and team features only when present in the build
